Winemaker

Andrew is the owner of Ferrière Vineyards, Inc. and managing partner of  Radoux-Ferrière. He is responsible for all viticulture and winemaking for these as well as the Raven Oaks brand.

He is dedicated to the creation and stewardship of the Coyote Ridge Peninsula where in 1998 he purchased 82 acres outside of Murphy’s California and developed it into the terraced hillsides you see today. The neighboring Raven Oaks Vineyards and Canterbury vineyards were also developed by Andrew shortly thereafter. These properties equal 76 acres of rolling valley and terraced hillsides along with 340 acres of other property development. The vision was to introduce to the world a new luxury class sub-appellation where one can enjoy the energy and balance of the vines, in an old-world agricultural setting. He is recognized for his stewardship to the land and deep knowledge of how bio-dynamics can be expressed in the glass.

Andrew's career began as a biological control consultant in entomology, soil and water chemistry, and wine grape quality enhancement. His undergraduate degree is in Biology, Chemistry and Entomology, and after working as an independent consultant he performed post graduate work at U. C Davis in Viticulture and Oenology. He has assisted research with U.C. Berkeley professor Dr. Kent Daane and Dr. Michael Costello, at at the Robert Mondavi research station. Following that, he managed over three thousand acres of farming operations producing for Gallo, Robert Mondavi, Clo Dubois and other industry leaders. Andrew was active in establishing quality enhancement and I.P.M practices on regional levels for the industry.

Andrew also served the 1st and 184th infantry division as a medical specialist and attended the California Military Academy Officers Cadet program. He was the co-founder of the first “Wine-Camp” an event bringing together non-profit organizations with venture capitalists and technology companies. He donates and pours wine to help the Big Bothers and Big Sisters foundation, and has worked as a counselor for troubled youth.
